It's a special privilege to get to take your dog into public places.  Always ask and please make sure you and your dog are respectful of business owners and patrons when taking your dog into places that allow pets. 
 
Good manners are paramount!

Is your dog ready?  Is he social and comfortable?  Be respectful of your dog's needs and don't put him in situations where he isn't ready or willing.  Just say NO if he doesn't want to be petted by strangers!

Follow these guidelines to ensure that you and your dog are being courteous community members.
 

  • Exercise before entering, take a baggy, and always scoop your poop!

  • Prevent barking.

  • Your dog should keep his nose to himself and his feet on the ground.

  • Only let your dog greet a stranger if they ask and your dog wants to.

  • On leash at all times and under your direct supervision.

  • Don't allow your dog to interact with other dogs, especially service dogs!

  • Maintain your distance - no crowding.

  • Be aware of other people's feelings.

Shop Local for Your Pets!

Our students can shop at Diamonds in the Ruff! We have an onsite supply of leashes, collars, brain toys and training rewards for our students and their dogs courtesy of Prairie Dog Pet Mercantile.  The shop is only open during class time.  Shop during your regular class time, or you are welcome to check the online schedule to see when we are there and slip in (without your dog) before or after class to make purchases.   

 

Shop Local for your pet's needs - support the many wonderful locally-owned shops in Spokane.  We are especially proud that one of our wonderful instructors, Amy Barker, owns Prairie Dog Pet Mercantile! Several of our instructors also work there and are ready to answer your questions and help you find the the perfect product for your dog or cat!  We hope you will drop by and say hi!
