Stan's new family!

Tomorrow we shoot the scene where we meet Stan's "wife" and family. Stan's sister Ally and her "dad" Rod and their surrogate children "the beagle pups four" met at the Shilo Inn today in preparation for their busy day tomorrow.

Can the puppies come out?

Wake up, puppies!

Puppieeees!

Puppy coming out!

The boy pup has the spot. The other three are girls.

Ally (Stan's sister who will play Stan's "wife") peeks at Stan and pups.

Puppies like Stan, too!

Day 18

Puppies arrive on set!

Sister Ally on set!

Pups in box.

Pups out of box with Stan.

Pups back in box.

Pups out of box with Ally.

Pups in box, Stan stay, Ally up ...

At last, pups in box, Ally and Stan stay!

During the big family finale shot. Two puppies and one boy missing. Will we ever get this right?

Of course, they did.

Rene - the puppies' mom.

Stan with Claudia of River City Rescue (L) - we wouldn't have Stan if it weren't for Claudia, and we wouldn't have had a reunion of his littermates without her either! And Gretchen (R), the Second Assistant Director. She was in charge of juggling who was where when and choreographed all the behind the scenes action and gave us our call sheets every day.

This is Paul - the wonderful man behind the camera - with one of the puppies. He wore his dog shirt for puppy day! In the background at right is Craig the director, to the left is Rick, the camera man who goes out with us on our outdoor shoots and who was behind the camera for the magic beagle family shot. The suit in the back is Dave.

Day 19 - our last day onset with the actors. One more outdoor shooting day on Friday. We did a nice interview with Rick Lukens of KXLY - it should be on TV in the morning and at 6PM on Monday, April 2nd.

A quick shot with the bad guy Duke - aka Brian Russo. The wardrobe gal was standing by to remove any stray dog hair on that great wool coat. The directions were, make your mean face, now your friendly face ... Stan says I should have said "no blinking!" He is a really sweet guy.

Lots of close-ups today!

Tadaaaa! with head tilt.

and we found a better place to nap - a sun room at the top of the stairs ...

... where we could see the backyard below with the fake snow - note the big roll at bottom of photo. This is where we went to stretch our legs.

It was also a great place to watch everyone go by on their way to film.

Instead of this everytime the kids would leave their room to go downstairs ... he could see this:

Bye, Abby - Bye Brant - Bye Abby's mom ...
His tail would go a mile a minute at the mere sight of them.

Bye Brant's mom!
At the time they left to take the kids out for a stretch between scenes, we didn't know that we would be leaving the set before they got back ...

He would have liked it if he'd hugged him a little too tight, just one more time!

What will we do next week??

A cartoon made by Alexa's hubby Robert:

"Here is the little cartoon my husband made to amuse the rest of the family...Our sweet dog, Max, passed away about four months ago. He was a crazy but lovable bundle joy.... See you on set! Alexa."
