Ren on the lure course
Member- Association of Pet Dog Trainers

Kathie has owned and shown a variety of breeds over the years:
Dobermans, Pharaoh Hounds, Greyhounds, a Sheltie,
and mixed breeds large and small.

She was a member of the Inland Empire Doberman Pinscher Club, past president of Lilac City Dog Training Club and is active in the Greyhound Rescue.

She and her husband Andre shifted breeds when they added a Smooth Fox Terrier named Jake.
Jake has earned his AKC Championship, Canadian Championship and Junior Earthdog title.

The root word of Terrier is Terra - meaning earth. Born to dig!

Kathie and Andre's new love is a Smooth Fox Terrier pup named Dozer
shown here going Best of Winners/Best Opposite in Walla Walla in April of '07.
He and uncle Jake have mirror image markings.
See below:

Jake (L) and nephew Dozer (R) take BEST BRACE IN SHOW at the Spokane Kennel Club show in May, 2007!

Kathie's dogs have earned several AKC obedience and lure coursing titles.

Her Pharaoh Hound Ren earned his American Sighthound Field Association (ASFA) Field Championship in lure coursing. Kathie is VERY proud of that accomplishment! Ren was also the #15 Pharaoh Hound in the country the year he completed his title.

on your mark ...

Kathie is interested in agility & earthdog trials, shows in conformation, too.

Kathie and her newest Pharaoh Hound puppy, Gemba, who took Best of Breed at his first show.

And continues to win as an adult!

Kathie teaches Diamonds in the Ruff's daytime Headstart, Prep, Pup Culture classes and our Canine Good Citizen class and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

Started in 1989, the AKC Canine Good Citizen is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The CGC is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

All dogs, including both purebred and mixed breed dogs are welcome to participate in the CGC program. Dogs must be old enough to have received necessary immunizations such as rabies vaccines and be under the routine care of a veterinarian.
There is no age limit for the CGC test. A dog is never too old to be a good citizen. Puppies who have completed all immunizations and boosters may be tested, however, because we know that behavior and temperament can change over time, when puppies pass the CGC test, owners should have them re-tested as adults.
