So, here's the story ...

Yes, there are plenty of available dogs in Spokane, but occasionally, you succumb to the possibilities of internet surfing and online dating. Yes, there are entire websites dedicated to 'finding a soulmate' ... including furry ones. The particular doggy dating service that I landed on is called "PetFinder.com"

This is the photo that sucked me in ...
Who can resist a dog who thinks he's this adorable?

His current name is "Jumper" although it will be changing.
He seems to like "Benny" ... there are moments when Taz or Spaz would work - but THAT we don't want to encourage!

So on Tuesday EARLY (and those who know me, know I don't DO "early") I got on a plane and flew to Texas. Yes, Texas, to meet my online dreamboat. Would he be all that he wrote in his emails?

We met at a hotel, and it was love at first sight. We spent a glorius night in a kingsized bed together ... didn't get much sleep if ya know what I mean. (OK - we went out to potty a lot. There are GECKOS and TOADS everywhere on the walls and in the lawn at night in Houston!)

And on Wednesday, we made the 6+hour flight home. He was the perfect carry-on luggage guy. There was only one tricky moment ... he was strip searched by the new Federal flight inspectors (well not really, but they did make him take off his collar so he wouldn't set off the detector!)

He fits in well, don't you think?

Yes, he's broken. Run over by a Great Dane ... on purpose or by accident we aren't sure.
The old fogies at our house are voting for on purpose. He is relentless in his quest for a playmate.

He and the cat have been playing "Tag I'm It!" all morning.
She loves the hide in the bushes and ambush him as he goes by part!

What's up, Gramps?

I can make them love me - I'm too cute to resist!

Well, maybe all of them but Ed ... he's not impressed. Can I get down now?

Man, can this guy snuggle or what?

Today I met the tortoise!

Mom heard hysterical barking ... like "COME QUICK!! ROCKS ARE ALIVE!!"

Life is pretty good!

See? I TOLD ya I'd win 'em over!

THE END! ... no, only just the beginning ...

Keep checking back - updates often!

At first the vets thought our little guy would need to repair his leg. We almost had to pass on taking him after finding out that his leg was not healing and would require expensive surgery to repair, as we had to stay ahead of our vet bill situation with Eddie's ongoing battle with kidney disease - he came first, of course. The Humble/Kingwood Miniature Schnauzer and Small Breed Rescue raised funds to help cover the estimated $1200 surgery to plate his little bones by applying for funding and selling items on Ebay. Even though Benny's bills were abated, they always have pups in need. If you'd like to help, please contact them!
