Pat Moberly is dedicated to helping dogs learn to help their owners.
Pat works with people with disabilities to help them train their own dogs
to assist them at home and in public using positive, non-compulsive methods.

Pat's love of goldens led her to an interest in training assistance dogs. She has raised 3 puppies for organizations and headed the puppyraiser program for one of them for a year. Her education in dogs includes 2 APDT conferences, an Assistance Dogs Institute seminar, and a Delta Society conference, a Clicker Expo, and seminars with the Baileys and Morgan Spector, Karen Pryor, Sue Sternberg, and Corally Burmaster.


Education:

Pat is an honors graduate of Jean Donaldson's Academy for Dog Trainers at the San Francisco SPCA with a Certificate in Training and Counseling. She's run a private training business for 5 years and spent the past winter attending all DITR classes and volunteering at the Coalition of Responsible Disabled.

Pat joined Diamonds in the Ruff in the fall of 2005, offering classes specifically for those who would like to train their own Service Dog. She also assists the daytime Headstart and Prep classes with Kathie Wamsley.

A well trained service dog is a joy to behold.
A specially trained dog can open doors to life for their owners - literally!

Pat teaches group classes where students work at their own pace in a small group setting. Basic Skills classes are held on weekdays and times are flexible. Pat tries to accommodate her students' schedules.

Private lessons are also available for those who wish additional private instruction or are unable to fit a group class into their busy schedule, Pat is available for one-on-one private lessons at Diamonds in the Ruff or in-home. (Additional charge for mileage outside the Spokane area.) $40 per hour.
