Liver Brownie Bites

Ingredients:
1 lb beef liver
2 eggs
1/4 cup canola oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch salt (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cut liver into chunks. In a food processor, pulse the liver until it.s finely chopped. Add the eggs, oil and honey and whiz until blended and close to smooth. Don't worry about getting all of the small limps out.

Transfer to a bowl and add the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir until just combined.

Spread the batter in an 8x8-inch pan that.s been sprayed with non-stick spray and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is springy to the touch. If you have a small dog, you can bake the brownies in a 9x13-inch pan for 15 to 20 minutes. This will make thinner brownies that can be cut into smaller pieces. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into bite size pieces.

Dog Treats from Leni Hauer,
Maggie & Charlie's mom

2 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 egg
6 T oil
8-10 Tablespoons water
2 jars baby food

Mix dry. Mix wet. Combine. Knead into workable dough. Add a bit more flour if needed. Roll and cut to desired shape. (I usually roll to between 1/8 and 1/4" thick. Then cut into 1/4 inch squares.) They are great dog "cookies" too.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 350 degrees for 20-25 min.
(I turn down the heat to 200-225 and let them sit in the oven for a while to dry out.
That way I can store them in a canister in the pantry.) Break 'em apart.

(Very close to a store brand that the dogs LOVE and much cheaper!)

Coyote's Canine Cookies

These make great clicker training treats!

(2) 6 oz. cans of tuna (do not drain)
(2) eggs
1 to 1.5 cups of flour
2 Tablespoons of garlic powder
2-3 tablespoons of parmesan cheese

Liquify ingredients in a blender or food processor. Mix in the flour a little at a time until it reaches the consistency of thick cake batter. Spread into non-stick 9 x 13 cake pan. These will be about 1/4" thick when done (very little rise.) Sprinkle with more parmesan cheese if desired.

Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

Edges should pull away from the pan. Texture will be like stiff putty (easy to cut and break if needed, but not crumbly.) Cut into 1/4" pieces and serve! (makes lots!) Extras (if there are any) can be frozen.
